Removing Health Tomes at the Secret Shop

Thoughts on this? We'd like to remove the health tomes, as it doesn't make any sense to have them in with builder hp ups. They end up creating an unfair advantage for the builders when they have certain amounts of gold as the health that you can reach with the tomes (technically infinite) is not intended for builders play

I kinda like the idea of playing as a murloc that has 2k hp, but maybe that is just me...

I wouldn't completely remove it but I would make the maximum builder hp outside of specific supports that can't base cap out at 500-600 hp

We're considering all possiblities. @Haunt Correct, it's powerful, but in our opinion it's too strong. Think about the Titan's position. As Murloc you're supposed to base, not have 800hp 10 minutes in. On that tangent, you can still get your HP very high, around 2k, but it'll require shields and hp upgrades rather then straight hp tomes

@Dehumanchum We were considering this too but it seems more limiting than just removing the tomes themselves.

Builders who base should be squishy they poses the power to destroy a titan even capping the hp at 500-600 for builders still can put them above 2k easily with shields

Lol, dont you think if a titan has fed enough gold for a baser to be 800+hp they deserve to lose? It's not like anyone wants titans to have a gold/xp cap per minute, if one team is playing really badly then they should lose.

More specifically if a builder spends like 250+ gold on hp and not g2l/ulti towers and the titan still can't siege their base then the titan almost certainly just played like shit. If you do worse than your opponents all game, then you should get punished for it. The only thing an update like this would do is make it harder to kill a stalling titan, and make boring out-matched pubs even more boring.

@1337hamburger I agree for the most part. If a Titan is garbage yes, he should be punished VIA losing.

The goal though is to make builders less powerful right now. As is, you have to be a very good Titan to win against an in-house or just good builders. It's easier to play builder than it is Titan by a long shot, the goal is to balance around average players, and like @Dehumanchum said shields are always going to be a thing.

I would like to see builders remain glass cannons throughout the game even though they are fed, keeps the risk which is FUN !

I don't think just removing tomes without adding a way to spend money in a fun way is a smart move tho.

the problem is that the builders shouldnt have the gold available to be able to purchase the tomes because if they do have the luxury of that amount of resources, the game is already lost for the titan.

Turns out they don't exist anymore. Regardless, I removed the 45g hp upgrades after I believe ~ 5 or 6 upgrades. After that it's required to buy shields or other methods to get higher health. We want builders who are intended to have higher health to be able to do so VIA upgrades, so we have more control over max health, rather than gold upgrades for days
