Bleh bleh bleh, GJ burn, I wrote a strongly worded comment in there, any dipshit who thinks vamp fire is better than ID is clueless, it's a worse version.

Vamp fire was fun, but way to casual. No fun in the long run , always the same process. Id is complexer and more addicting

Lol, typical downey. But I reckon that if Custom games were made possible on DotA2 client, ID will definitely spawn there. Hopefully the editors won't fuck it up like they did in SC2 though.

The question is whether we'll we able to make maps or if valve makes them.

They already said they would add LoD and DotA related fun maps. - What if custom maps - which don't have anything to do with dota - aren't allowed?

DotA 2 graphics suck. And I doubt Valve will be able to make as powerful a world editor as WC3's.

It's obv something new and u can't really compared to wc3's comic look.

Was ugly for me as well but you get used to it.

Sc2 id sucks really hard. I dont think dota2 can make it better than in wc3, graphics doesnt help bad gameplay

More modding than "editing", so you'd have the ability to make any kind of customization you'd want.

Yes, I'm interested. I think it's a lot more viable than trying to make a stand-alone client from scratch.

Assets are an issue, but nothing that can't be overcome.

I think Valve atm won't consider it, seeing as WC3 ID is dying and SCID sucks balls and isn't as popular as other custom games on SC2, but if someone makes ID popular on Dota2 as a custom game, then Valve (or some other company) might consider making a stand-alone ID game. At the moment WC3's ID community will never grow, WC3 TFT/RoC is far too out-dated.

Uhm, you don't need Valve's permission to do anything? You can simply use the Source SDK for Dota 2 (once it comes out) and make your own standalone (or requiring Dota 2 which is free anyway) game.

that would be cool, but i suppose if valve endorsed and support this project, island defense would be more known .

Oh cool, didn't know this was out already with SourceMod.js and other wrappers? Or what's http://d2ware.net ?

Edit: ah I see, whatever modding is available atm sucks

then Valve (or some other company) might consider making a stand-alone ID game

What's the point of stand-alone?
