Hah, I think it's worth noting that I based at the base left of mid (famous for mass walling) for 6 whole games in a row. Seriously guys.

Yeah, maybe because some base spots are OP as hell compared to other shitty lumber bases, and needs major terrain fixing.

why need walls when you can just lumber anywhere? :)
Walls cost 50 wood each.. + upgrade 250 wood... Waste of lumber!

Must be fun being a titan when builders win every game.

Titan is SO much more fun than builders, people are just too afraid to lose. To be honest, I should've volunteered this in-house for a few titan matches, but most of the time people VOLUNTEER to be titan in these in-houses.

So yes, your sarcastic statement is, in my opinion, very very true. You should try some time, Island Defense (titan) isn't as competitive as Island Defense (Builder), and no matter the outcome, I will always have fun playing titan. 'Tis the journey, they say. The journey for the builder to win the game for a typical builder pub game is VERY VERY boring.

Unless you play it my way. :D
Risk is good. It keeps your attention to the game. This is the main reason I still play Island Defense, EVEN WITH insane pings like 150ms (for Island Defense it is a lot), I play Island Defense as a high-risk high reward play-style to fun-suck everyone else's fun as your own.

Oh, and it also makes some pretty entertaining YT videos. I wouldn't be ashamed to put full video game-play of me playing if my internet wasn't so trashtastic.

I'm glad you took my comment at purely face value because there was no intent or anything behind it. I would like to try island defence but I just don't have the time to game now, I don't want to spend my few hours a week getting smashed in a new game xD.

When I think of ID I think of cat and mouse jungle from starcraft 1. Obviously it will be a lot lot more in depth but same general game mechanics?

Cat and mouse is basically spot on. There is actually a game called that for WC3 called Tom and Jerry.

Do it. Try it. If you already know about the basic mechanics, you will surely excel.
