Are there any more active Wacraft 3 communities?

As the title states, are there any other active Warcraft 3 communities besides ENT? What about map-specific communities?

I think there are some vampirism (fire/zero/beast) communities and maybe few small DotA communities. Other than that, doubt it.

I'm not sure about that, I heard Garena still got quite some players. On Garena, games are sorted according to rooms, such as RPG room 1, 2... There's still enough players on them, although they may not play the same custom map as you.

Garena (probably bigger platform than B.net)
Eurobattle
Bored Aussie
Plenty of other (crappy) PVPGN servers

There must also be some smaller WC3 communities like ENT out there if you look for it.

For example, I just went through the game list, and found some autohost bots with this as a subfix:

[BeW]
[VFG] (this is probably the biggest vampirism community which probably has its own site)
[BK]
[SMXP]
[ET]
[UcW] (seems like this has the second most autohost bots)
[EDGE] (iirc this is a small wc3 clan)

There is basically a community for each map, like Island Defense had its own site - http://www.islanddefense.org/

To be fair, having two lobbys open for one map like vampirism seems pretty good. Especially if both games are filling.

i just wanted to say, its not rly a wc3-community ... its more like a vampirism-fire-community. and like most communitys for only 1 map, its quite small

Risk Devolution got a pretty big community too, they used to have tournaments and inhouse games every day until some months ago, not sure on how active they are atm, but they used to be pretty active, their tournaments could have up to 32 players.

clan sk skilled bot is pretty active for LTD. decent number of posts etc. every day, trying to make league but don't have the experienced moderators - several of LIHL's members have migrated to ENT from other bots.

In my opinion you cannto compare the communities, because they are actually based on another platform.
Once you have the bot hosters as ent, and eurobattle is probably the platform for the bots. They have also a ladder based community, but that is it.

Probably totally agree with you, it wasnt mean offended.
It will never happen simply because the idea and target of each community is different.

We had recently now again a merge fail, and it costs us a lot of time and energy working on these projects. Our community (OHS) is not big, i never said anything different, but some people see us seriously as enemies and trying to attack us (like recently with ddos).

About the features i totally agree also, we investigate a lot of time, planing, building and merge the ideas in the best way together, that they work together. So far, we always had positive reactions on most of our features, and they are getting used.
I planed a dota league, since actually each dota league just died, but i stopped because the feedback was there, but i never think i can get the playerbase which will play there. Maybe players like it and move then, but this is only guessing.
And as most of us (programmers) we are probably working on multiply projects, and to be real, warcraft3 is more and more dieing, this is why im also not sure if the effort is worth enough.

While it's off-topic, I am interested in who you tried to merge with?

The "wc3 is dying" is always.. controversial to say the least. As long as your efforts are appreciated by the community, it's 100% worth it, in my opinion. We (and I am talking about all community administrations) are dedicating our time to improve the players' experience and not to establish a substantial business to gain anything but their satisfaction. And anything which achieves that is worth it. Nothing is ever-lasting; the economy's growth isn't and games' activities aren't. To realize that is important, whether one likes it or not; and to evaluate efforts based on if something is lasting a long period or not, is perhaps the wrong approach.

I am not denying nor approving the claim that wc3 is dying because in my opinion, it's senseless. As long as I feel that our/my time and passion are well invested to make players - just like us/me years ago - happy, then I fully consider it worthy.

After all, Warcraft 3 is a great game and players who just discovered it should have the opportunity to experience what we did.
