Major question here.

Postby Solarin52 » Fri Jul 01, 2016 8:06 am

Is there any way that I can reduce the lag on my laptop? I enjoy playing LTD, but whenever I get to wave 14+ or a little bit sooner, I start lagging like crazy. And it's getting annoying. I am not using a tower. I am playing on my laptop.

Closed all other programs? Ensured that no one else is using your connection? Did you check whether it's a connection or hardware issue?
Information, Rules, Guides and everything else you need to know about ENT is on the ENT Wiki.

@Solarin52 are you useing an appel device can be a reason since mac has allways seems to have problems with games.
you can try and keep track of it by !checkme to look at ms and /fps to see frames.
unless your laptop is really old and the hardware is "broken" you should not have this problem on a small map as LTD you might have a virus that uses alot of your processor. part from that it's hard to say what the problem might be. are you useing a real game and one of the 4 main servers or what way are you playing wc3? :P

in any case lets hope you can solve it. GL & HF

I'm not using a mac. I'm using a acer laptop. I live in a house of 5 people + visitors so there is always going to be more people using my internet. And yeah @wTc[jediMaster] I am using the real game. Bought it off of the blizzard website and I play on either Lorderan or Azeroth

@Solarin52 ill take a shot in the dark and say you may lagg because of your connection. When its 5 people who are using your wifi your connection will be slow.

I'm also using an acer laptop from ~2006, and I start lagging past level ~24. That is due to the fact that there is an increasingly large amount or units spawning at the same time at the beginning of every wave.

If you are experiencing the same issue as me, you should notice lag starts at the beginning of waves, and stops at the end of waves when all units are nearly dead.

If that corresponds to your issue, you should;

1) Zoom to the maximum (400) at the beginning of each waves.
2) Look down the map, in the ocean or the burning legion at every round start (basically, avoid looking at any place where units are massed/spawn).
3) Clean your fan.
4) Use a laptop pad/cooler.

I'm not a tech saavy, so I might be missing a few things, altho I'm sure #1 and #2 will work to some extent. @Solarin52

Do you know what hardware components are built into the laptop? Or got a link to a shop page?

Also, do you know by now if the problem is the laptop itself (low frames per second) or your connection (probably high ping)?

All I know is that my laptop has

AMD Quad Core 1.8Ghz
AMD Radeon R3 Graphics
6GB DDR3 L Memory
1 T hard drive.

You can do /fps while in-game to see if lag is caused by your frames per second.

If it is below 5, then that's why you lag. Normally should be at least above 20. 60 is the optimal fps, if I am not wrong.
