Did you just quote yourself from 2 diff forum accs? Anyways maybe you’ll make it to my next years Tier list.
I’m taking an extended break atm idk when/if I’ll be back. You might catch me on wc3champions playing ladder.
Keep this place alive while i’m gone
wc3 ladder was kinda fun back in the day. haven't played it in years, but don't think I can ever go back. I tried playing vanilla wc3 on bnet and it was just leaver after leaver since it doesn't ban you - the games were the exact opposite of fun.
But why do you leave so often? It seems each time there is a catalyst. Last time, it appeared to be a spat with ifck over geo keys. This time, correct me if I'm wrong, it seemed to be players on your team (such as "Kanye") ruining. You win a lot of games, but then you get into some streak of losses (like the rest of us)... because you pick weaker heros, and that seems to frustrate you to the point of leaving.
There’s not a singular particular reason, more so I’m just burnt out from probably playing too much. The game’s also stale for me. I derive fun from this game from getting better in some way or challenging myself. I’ve approached this is many different ways but eventually i get bored of them. Playing to win for win/loss or elo just doesn’t do it anymore, because you have to pick strong meta heroes or play counter-pick dota. The games that are actually fun are the ones you barely win or lose when you outplay or get outplayed. Those games seem to be too few and far between.
Ive tried to solve this in other ways aswell where the challenge itself is playing on the underdog teams most of the time, however even that gets boring since it sort of limits the amount of team synergy and therefore the potential plays. Stomping a game with Lina even if i go 25-1 on the underdog teams just isn’t really fun anymore. Another way I’ve tried to solve this is learning heroes i haven’t played before. In the past it was invoker then meepo this time it was earth spirit. The learning part is really fun after that though, back to square one.
I guess what im trying to get out of this game has become way different to what others want. Along side the other reasons which I spoke about in the !ff thread my interest for the game is very low and its not anyones fault in particular its just natural for a league with 30 players on the same map for years on end to be predictable and eventually boring.
