ENT Servers
ENT Servers
How come ENT is the only place the hosts reliable DoTa games. I find it very annoying there are no other servers out there. Enterprise is to DoTa as Steam is to Counterstrike and its lame these guys can ban for so long. Its like they own the DoTa, I remember when there was once 4 - 5 decent servers a user could play on. I'm just ranting here, but man its lame AF. Its almost as if they have the rights to the friggin game itself because they have a monopoly over the ability to host reliable games. Would love to hear some moderators chime in on this. See what They have to say...
Re: ENT Servers
Well there's other servers currently hosting DotA as well (Giving you Void, BK and OHS as examples); ENT's a hosting/gaming community, which hosts different types of games, which will include all different type of players, tactics, maps, etc. Our purpose of banning is not to keep the players away and forbid them from playing, but rather to "educate them" and prevent them from ruining games, which in the end will ruin the first and main reason: having fun/good games - Warcraft 3 is slowly dying (we may not see it on a "daily" basis, but it will die eventually), so all we can do, and try everyday, is having people enjoy what's left of warcraft 3.
Now let's be real: We do give the opportunity to everyone to play in our servers (we never restricted the "noobs" or the so-called "pros" from playing, we welcome everyone and enjoy seeing new faces around), but we ask something in exchange, which is, to follow certain (reasonable if i might add) rules, to ensure the quality of the games that are played, and to ensure that everyone has a good time.
1 person who ruins a game at DotA will be ruining the game for other 9 players (Not only will your allies suffer from it, but also your enemies - Personally i find pretty boring when someone is ruining a game, since the game will become (most of the times) easy to end due to that.
TL;DR - Follow the rules and you should enjoy your time playing

Re: ENT Servers
We have rules and standards to upkeep a quality gaming experience. Most of the rules are derived from common sense, so they should not be unreasonable to follow. It is NOT that our rules and standards that ruin this game, but by those who ruin the gaming experiences of others. Perhaps rethink why ENT is still running compared to other bots that have died out...whether it is as you mentioned our reliable hosting/server, our comminity and its involvement, our management and moderators, variety of games or our passion for this classic game.
Wc3 is based on an old system which lacks support and enforcement. Custom games are even more loosely regulated to the point id say they are ignored by blizzard. Honestly, whole wc3 or classic games have lost their support status. If you speak with game masters or battlenet moderators, you will understand what I mean. If you ruin games on newer games such as on League of Legends, your account and ip will get banned just like how we do things here, but with superior tracking system.
Your ban was reduced to 1 day after an appeal. I do not think our bans are too harsh to handle for non-usual rule breakers.
As an alternative, you can play dota on dota void afaik. Wc3 is a shared space, we do not monopolize custom games. Anyone is free to host.
