[0098] Bubonicus

Postby Neco » Thu Feb 26, 2015 5:10 am

So I had an idea for Bubonicus that revolved around him being more unique than the other titans we current have and I was wondering what the communities opinion was on the matter.

Here's my proposal:
Bubonicus (Reference: http://www.wowwiki.com/Abomination)
  • Innate - Slow Poison
    Passive. Standard slow poison.
  • Innate - Gather Corpse
Auto-castable. Gathers a nearby corpse and stores it within Bubonicus's body.
Bubonicus can store 3 corpses at one time.
The Gold Mound can produce 5 corpses at a time, and will produce one every 60 seconds.
While Bubonicus has a corpse inside of him, he leaves a lingering disease cloud where-ever he goes that deals 12 damage per second for 5 seconds to any enemy unit within 300 range.
If Bubonicus drops a corpse, it will serve as a short-sighted sentry ward until it is picked up again or it until it expires after 60 seconds.
  • Nuke - Corpse Launch
Point / Unit Targeted. Launches a spray of corpses at the large location, dealing damage and stunning enemy units that get hit.
    130 / 155 / 180 damage, stuns for 1 second.
  • Escape - Death Void
Self-Targeted. Standard wind walk with a 20 second duration and 110 second cooldown. 75 bonus backstab damage just like the original.
  • Heal - Consume
Self-Targeted. Consumes a stored corpse in order to rapidly heal Bubonicus and other nearby friendly units in a small area of effect. Feeding on flesh drives units effected into a frenzy, increasing their attack and movement speeds temporarily.
  • Unique - Exhume
Passive. Raises Bubonicus's corpse storage to 5. Bubonicus can now replenish 1 corpse every 45 seconds on his own. For each corpse that Bubonicus has stored, he gains an additional 1 armour.
  • Ultimate - Meat Shield
Self-Targeted. Consumes all stored corpses in order to form a meat shield around Bubonicus.
Each corpse absorbs 500 damage before exploding into a cloud of toxic gases. These clouds linger for 10 seconds, and lower the armor of enemy structures and units caught inside by 5.

His minions would presumably have some way of transporting corpses to assist in sieging, but would not use them for themselves. The main idea would be for Bubonicus to be a powerful sieger but weak in scouting and hunting due to a weak escape ability.

@TooNoobForU also suggested replacing Bubonicus' old Corpse Launch nuke to a form of a hook (such as Pudge). I've included this option in the poll.

How would this hook nuke work? Deal damage to one unit only? Or aoe like syph? Would it pull the builder to bubo? Could he pull mini to himself with it?

Hmmm, seemed that the idea was a single target nuke that would pull the unit to Bubonicus (pulling a minion as well would be fun!) I guess if the pulled unit hits a blockage it stops? Could make for some interesting walling patterns to prevent wallers from getting pulled out.

Just make the nuke be as slow as syph and let people dodge it imo.

No idea how a hook nuke would be balanced, but the idea certainly seems interesting!

Tbh you could make the hook do damage first and if it doesn't kill the unit drags it and this gives you your 'aoe' nuke.

It'd be super cool if it bounced like in pudge wars. As long as it's slow (dodgable) I don't see it being a problem.

Could make it be fast and as ultimate can drag builders but that sounds less fun.

Hook shouldn't be able to pull builders. It would just be too overpowered. Just think of average pubs, you wouldn't be able to lose as bubo.

So, imo hook should dmg all units it hits, and only pulls friendly units to him, e.g. minis. When you level it up dmg, range (,width and speed?) increases.

How does that sound?

I don't really mind if it could bounce as well.

The hook should work like this, jumps to 5 other targets but does no damage. Pulls all units to the titan over walls, trees, etc. Im sure after a while people would learn tactics to avoid this and it would be interesting, as long as it does no damage I dont think it would be OP.

lol how would it jump?

the best would be a small-medium sized projectile skillshot hook that did 180 damage. the cast animation should be like syphs former nuke but a little bit faster and the projectile should be a bit slower than syphs former nuke.

i vote no corpses that would be paralympic
