GProxy DLL version 0.07 has just been released:

http://www.mymgn.com/gproxy

  • Fixed some rare race conditions in the patching process
  • Improved the AuthInfo patching method
  • Added support for PvPGN servers
  • Added game start notification

It has been pointed out to me by @Hazardous that the "Unable to validate game version" problem may persist even after the last update of GProxy DLL (0.07). I am still unable to replicate the problem or find clues about what is causing it.

So, I'd like to ask 2 quick questions that may help:

@Kirim @KiwiKiller[QQ] @Diablo_

  • Are you using the English version of Warcraft III? If not, what language is your Warcraft III in?

  • When the problem appears, which Battle.net server are you trying to connect to (Europe, US East, US West, Asia)?

Type ipconfig /flushdns on windows command. If it doesnt work, try it without space between ipconfig and /.

@Don_Killuminati

that flush seemed to fix the problem with me, others should give that a try.

Ok, after lots of research I've finally found what the cause of the problem is.

The problem is not caused by GProxy DLL.

Let me explain why.

There are 12 USEast servers in total (199.108.55.51 - 199.108.55.62). When you try to connect to USEast, your computer picks one of these 12 servers to connect to. Doing an ipconfig /flush immediately picks a different server.

I have checked all the servers, one by one. The first 11 servers have been successfully updated by Blizzard to run with the new patch 1.27b (1.27.1.7085). However, the last USEast server at 199.108.55.62 is still running patch 1.27a (1.27.0.52240), so it rejects you if you have installed the latest patch.

So, when connecting to USEast, either with or without GProxy, you have a 1/12 chance of getting rejected.

Somebody please inform Blizzard that they forgot to update their USEast server at 199.108.55.62 with the new patch 1.27b!

I made a post in Blizzard's forums, it's now up to them to fix it:
https://us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/20752548111

Until then, the only solution is the ipconfig /flushdns that was mentioned above.

On your keyboard, press [Windows Key] + [R].

A window like this will appear:

Type in it ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Alternatively, you can type cmd in it, press Enter, and a window like this will appear:
Image

Type in it ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
