ahh ok original post threw me off, interesting way to use the word diffusion, well splash works it's just a small AoE. Do you have a replay at the time when it wasn't working?

my wave come to lv 2x
because that splash is too small dmg i can't see any splash
if i create it in wave lv1
i can see splash now
