I assume he meant going into enemy base with rapier and died, thus "dropping it."

no guys u can drop rapier the first time after it drops ( assuming it hasent touched enemy hands )

basically gives you a chance to give it back to the owned the first time. then becomes soulbound its dropped again or if the first time it is dropped an enemy gets it. (also couriers can drop rapiers!!)
