Why you should be unbanned:

Because a 5-day ban for afking is extremely out of touch with the current state of bships games hosted on ENT19. Not uncommon for games to take an hour to fill. On average there are 1-2 afkers at the start of every single game. Usually if 5+ mins have elapsed they might get votekicked. This is an inherent issue with people having lives and games taking a while to fill. In this particular case after waiting for a long time and seeing most of the slots still open I went outside for a cigarette break (I know I'm an idiot who likes cancer). Almost immediately several people at once (maybe stacking eh?) joined the game and started. I was late. It was a bummer (that affected me more than anyone else). I guess someone on the other team has beef with me and decides this is a great chance to take me out of the game for five days. Of course, this is all rather insane. Being afk for a few minutes is very routine given the long fill-up times. Usually we play a game mode where missing a couple minutes is inconsequential for this very reason. Banning people for the occasional AFK just means that many fewer people play, which makes the games take longer to load, which then leads to even more AFKers. The medicine in this case actually just makes the condition worse.

I know you all are busy and battleships is a very minor game, and you assume if someone goes through the hassle of reporting something, it's probably safe to say that person was causing a problem. Unfortunately that is taken advantage of by the few players who are familiar with the forums and how ban requests work.

I wish to be unbanned and to continue playing as soon as possible.

Mmmk well been banned all day now the one day a week I might be free during the day, quite annoying. In looking closer at the ban request I actually made some incorrect assumptions I'll edit out in my prior post. This is actually MUCH worse than I thought.

While I was out smoking this game got stacked quickly (fine, it happens). My team appears to have had three leavers within the first five minutes, before I returned. To make matters worse one of the players on the other team had killed me at spawn a few times. This is EXTREMELY against the spirit of the game. The opponent's base is not easily accessible. It takes intent to abuse afkers early. You must pick the crusader, level invis, run past the entire game and kill someone for a very small amount of gold. It makes a lot more sense to kill the players on the field and/or towers. You'll get more gold and win the game faster. This is clearly a bad actor. Not sure if it would fall under a rule break of any kind, but it's quite ugly. This is a rather personal message of I'm going to kill you, your record, make you feel bad, or whatever.

I bring that up because THAT'S the person (CMA) who submitted the ban request on me. Apparently he's only played 2 games on that account? Without knowing for sure more about the identity of the individual, it's clear this person had a grudge. Perhaps I had beaten his team in a previous game (as at least one member, creationofhell was on it partaking in the traditional trash talk). So he went on an AKA to try to give me a loss, and apparently a ban for good measure.

The most glaring reason this is absurd though is that there were THREE leavers in the first five minutes. You don't see him submitting ban requests on those people do you?

I politely request to be vindicated immediately. Perhaps in the future especially in the small world of bships, a more critical look be taken at who is trying to ban whom and what the real situation is.
