T-Birds

Postby HodoR_ » Thu Jan 11, 2018 8:03 pm

Hey there,

So as we all know t-birds got nerfed since their rise to power, a few months ago. Although, as much as I agree this is only a T3 towers, I find it quite terrible overall at this present time.

Don't throw stones at me yet  I'm not trying to get them back like they were (op af), but perhaps they could use a small increase in damage or increase in attack speed?

Have a great day

Honestly I am really suprised that while there are plenty overpowered units like ea, aqua, pure dankness etc and tons of useless units like ghoul, wanderer, footman, tempest etc u are talking about changing thunderbird which is pretty balanced unit. Good yolo, great anti 15, good anti 13 and 20.

You brought up good points Brandom, it might be me that have a biased opinion towards them. Although imo T-Birds attack speed is so slow, you get a bit of mass and it takes them forever to even hit the creeps once.

The only thing that tbirds need are animation timer fix, they swap target wayyy too fucking much and takes ages for them to actually land a hit, and its usually on the lowest hp target which pretty much wastes 50%+ of their damage which is quite high for a t3 tower.

@Mudman exactly, the attack animation is the problem. Takes forever.

I think both T Birds and Hellrazers should have much sooner attack with longer reload/recoil time. If you have a mixture of fast units like nightmare plus hellrazers or TBs, the latter two never get to attack if they target the same units as the fast attacker, which just feels so gross. IMHO hellrazer should not need a target, it should just cast its ability whenever it has enough mana, like ygg, but that's another story.

I do agree that TB got way over-nerfed. It used to be in the boat that Malf was in last patch, but now it's just so bad unless it's the only unit you build which personally I find makes a unit pretty weak if you can't afford to diversify.

I think - though I don't know how it would be programmed - another option for TB to make them suck less is that once they start winding up an attack make at the very minimum the ability proc even if their target died before they could attack.

TY for thread on such a fun unit :)

@Hakuna depicted it well. You can't mix fast attacking units with T-B, they just never get to attack.

Sprites are quite good early, but now I always feel like it's dead value since T-Birds are just not worth it anymore. As one of the few towers that has heavy armor and magic dmg, I think it could use a re-vamp!

Although you mentioned HellRaisers, and it's true they kind of act the same, at the very least they have a fast attack speed so it's not as bad.

I just hope this post doesn't get thrown away in the archive. I understand our dev has his hands full right now but hopefully we might get a fix some time in the near future!

On the latest version the ability dealt sometimes no damage.
Should be fine already again. will leave it open for a while in case the issue/an issue remains.

the issue remained as the system how the game casts abilites changed with the 3.43 version.
will be adjusted in the next patch.
