SEASON 3 - Rules, Game System, Prizes etc - READ ME FIRST

Postby Jamo » Sun Jan 28, 2018 7:50 pm

IMPORTANT: This thread is updated frequently, just like the wiki. If there is any inconsistency or contradiction between a post/topic and the LTL Rules, Point System & Trades thread, the later one has priority.

Please make sure to read this, since many things have changed compared to season 1 or 2.

Changes compared to LTL Season 2 are marked blue.

1. General Rules
1.1 All ENT General Rules and 1200+ rules are to be respected when playing LTL. Failure to respect those rules will result in consequences according to the violation and to the history of the player.
1.2 Games have to be hosted via ENT's hosting service.
1.3 The map being played is: Legion_TD_Mega_3.43c3.w3x
1.4 Remember that when a player is banned on ENT, he will not be able to play on the LTL.

2. League-specific Rules
Being a League, LTL contains some league-specific rules, those rules are listed below.

2.1 Do not abuse !owner rights.
2.2 Leaving: Do not leave before game has been won, forfeited by all players from opposite team or drawn by both captains to remake the game.
2.3 The game mode will be -phgmnmcb and it is red's responsibility to enter it or simply wait until the mode is auto-selected
2.4 It is not allowed to drop a player. If someone is lagging, let him reconnect or disconnect.
2.5 It is not mandatory to !draw. For this reason, the usage of GProxy DLL is strongly recommended.
    • If someone disconnects, the players can decide either if they want to remake or simply play it, it is up to the persons in-game.
2.6 Only LTL moderators and/or allowed streamers may observe games.
Captains are responsible that the team members are fully aware of the rules.

Any rule violation will be followed by disciplinary measures from league moderators. If you wish to report a player for breaking the rules make a thread in the LTL forum with proper time-stamps and with the replay link.

3. Match-Scheduling Rules
It is the duty of the captain and co-captain to represent his team when it comes to scheduling a match with another team's captain. With that being said, there are some rules to respect:

3.1 Each team must designate a captain and co-captain. Discord is mandatory for both of them.
3.2 Games have to be scheduled according to the Google Tabs Document (also see LTL Schedule Calendar and the Match plan.)
3.4 If teams want to play a match earlier than it is scheduled, they are free to do so! Just make sure to announce it as in the given example below!
3.5 Captains/Co-Captains may get in touch with each other via any communication channel they like. The #ltl-captains Discord channel, however, is preferred.
3.6 When both captains came to an agreement concerning the time and day the match will be played, they must notice the LTL staff members on Discord. See the example below for what we are expecting.
3.7 When reaching 20 minutes past the time agreed by both captains and that a team doesn't show up, or shows up without enough players to play the game, the game will be considered as a 0-2 forfeit for this particular team.
3.8 A set match date cannot be canceled, except both teams agree on it!
3.9 Each team may postpone one game into the Catch Up week.
3.10 In case of a team lacking a fourth player for an already set up date, they may ask their opponent for a 3s match instead. If both teams agree, the match can be played as 3s. (Regular season only!)
3.10 If both teams cannot find a date to play their game, each team will get 1 penalty point!
3.11 If you have proofs, that the opponent's team captain/co-captain cannot be reached or does not respond within the first week of when the game should be scheduled, inform the LTL staff. This is really important in order to make us aware of the issue and later prove that you tried to get in touch. LTL Staff will also try to reach the team then. If it can clearly be proven that the opponent's team is not reachable and no date can be set, the not-answering team will lose 0-2!

Example Scheduling - Captains/Co-Captains who agreed upon a date for a match with the opponent's captain/co-captain, must notify the LTL staff in the #ltl-games Discord channel! One captain/co-captain announces the date including the "@LTL-Staff" tag, the names of both teams, the exact day, time and timezone! The opponent's captain/co-captain then needs to verify this announcement before the date is officially set.

If someone is breaking any of those rules, you need to report him in a forum topic with proofs. Be it screenshots, replay link and Discord conversation, it needs to be flawless, otherwise we cannot make a proper decision.

4. Trades
Only adding a new player to your team is considered a trade! You can release as many people from your team as you like without it being counted as a trade. However, you need to have at least 4 people in your team.

4.1 Every team can proceed up to 2 trades for free during the regular season.
4.2 Every additional trade will cost 1 penalty point to the team.
4.3 Captains and Co-Captains may not be traded.
4.4 If a team starts the season with 4 (or 5) players, it can draft 2 (or 1) players for free and it won't count as a trade.
A proper post must be done on the Sign-ups & Trades thread before the trade is considered effective.

5. Regular Season
5.1 The regular season (before the Playoffs) lasts 8 weeks, independent of the number of signed-up teams.
5.2 If more than 9 teams have signed up, the matches for the 8 weeks of the regular season will be randomly decided.
5.3 Teams play a total of 3 individual games against one another.
5.4 Each game win is 1 point.
5.5 At the end of the season, the 8 teams with the most points will qualify to the playoffs.
5.6 In case of equality between 2 (or more) teams at the end of the season, here is how teams tied will be separated:
Tiebreak #1 - Direct comparison of teams: The winner of the match of tiebreaking teams will be palced above the other one.
Tiebreak #2 - Teams with fewer penalty points will be ranked higher.

6. Playoffs
6.1 Teams participating in the playoffs will be the 8 highest ranked teams in the table.
6.2 The ranking is done simply by the total number of points with the potential penalty points subracted.
6.3 Tiebreakers will be decided by direct comparison and number of penalty points.
6.4 All Playoff games will be best of 5 (bo5) games.
6.5 The Match-up in the quarter-finals will be done with respect to the ranking after the normal season as follows:
    • QF 1: #1 vs #5
    • QF 2: #2 vs #6
    • QF 3: #3 vs #7
    • QF 4: #4 vs #8
6.6 The semi-finals will be played as follows:
    • SF 1: Winner of QF 1 vs Winner of QF 3
    • SF 2: Winner of QF 2 vs Winner of QF 4
6.7 The finals will be played as follows:
    • Final: Winner of SF 1 vs Winner of SF 2
    • 3rd place: Loser of SF 1 vs Loser of 2

7. Prize
7.1 Besides inexpressible honor, each player of the winning team of the LTL Season 3 Finale will receive 10$, a spoof and the fire town design for LTD maps for 3 months.
7.2 If a player already has a spoof or a special town design, he will not receive any other prize. If, however, his spoof or town design had a limited duration, it will be refreshed to expire in 3 months.
