Processed Ban Request

I was wondering if I could get another moderator to take a look at a ban request I submitted. My request was moved to processed, but it appears the moderator that moved it didn't actually look at the replay or understand what was going on. I have tried pming the moderator but haven't gotten a response.

The request is here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20534

For reference, this is another request I had made: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20283

Both requests involve a scenario where one player takes items/gold from another player. In the second scenario, the player willingly gives his items to feed the other player. This was considered hull burning abuse and resulted in a 5 day ban. In the first scenario, one player takes items/gold (via burning) from another player without that player's permission. This is essentially the same thing (or even worse), yet nothing was done about this.

I work from 8-5 Monday- Friday and am off every weekend, when do you get on? While I'm at work or sleeping???

(btw, someone who knows DotA/battleships should take care of this complaint)

Mostly while you're working lol.

Also, I'm pretty sure you don't need any actual battleships experience to see that Psychic was clearly taking my items. He literally bought a tp item and sat somewhere within tp range for 4 minutes doing nothing and immediately tped in when I dropped an item.

[Edit due to below: maybe I do actually need someone who knows battleships :\ ]

I don't know what you're trying to prove.. you drop items next to him to bait him or what?
- I don't approve the way you're trying to set other players up like that.. as there's absolutely no reason for you to drop your items on the ground.

1st time might have been a mistake - if you watch the replay Psychic already dropped an item on the ground before you and was maybe trying to find it.
2nd time he used a tp to get to your stuff.. you obviously wanted him to do that since you kept dropping your items.

The game was obviously over so I decided not to do more about it.

I dropped items in order to burn them. In this case, I had a Swedish Repair Crew, worth 1950 gold. If you sell it normally, you only get half the price back (~1000). But if you drop it, buy a different repair crew, and then pick it up, you cannot hold 2 repair crews, and you get the full 1950 back.

If you watch any battleships replay, you see people dropping items to burn. It is a normal part of the game. The first time I dropped it near him because I didn't expect him to pick it up. Players generally know not to pick up another player's items unless they are complete noobs, which he is not. The second time he was further away, and I didn't expect him to actually buy a tp to use to get my items while I was burning. I wasn't trying to bait him in any way. The third time I actually waited for a good while for him to leave far enough for me to burn my items without him taking them, but he never left. So after 4 minutes of waiting I decided to try it and he still tped in to take them.

Regardless if the game is "obviously over" (the game lasted 46 minutes, he stole my items at 16, 21, and 33), I'm pretty sure stealing another player's items shouldn't be allowed.

Because "everyone is doing it" doesn't make it legal to use a glitch in the map..

To make along story short I decided not to ban Psychic because I believed it wasn't fair to ban 1 abuser while not being able to punish the source of the abuse.

PS.: I've been playing ships for 8 years, Been running 13 ship clans such as BSM on 3 servers, 13s, ship.
I've been modelling for maps such as 3.5b and crossfire. I still have my nickname in 5 ship maps - playing as Swiffer
- just thought I would add that since you're questioning my ship skills/knowledge.

This is a glitch. And in doing so is bannable :/

I thought it was normal for the game, since I was taught to play like that (everyone I asks for tips on how to play always mentions it as the first thing to learn). I apologize if it was not intended to be part of the game, and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was questioning you Iznogood, but I didn't realize it wasn't allowed.

Should I begin submitting ban requests for each person that uses this glitch then? Because I'm pretty sure almost every high level player does it.

If you can find it in the game info, tool tips, then i will retract my statement. Otherwise it is an unintended glitch in the game. (This means, i would have to become active in b-ships again. Haven't played it in almost 5-6 years).

This is the good question - a month back (actually after handling your first hull burn request) I had a talk with 4 ship clan leaders and wind-storm about making a meeting where we discussed an official rule set for battleships.
Using glitches and bugs are banable.. but like you're saying it's so widely used since they haven't been described in the actual ent rules.

After this meeting I hope that the clan leaders will help spread out the result of this rule-set to the members.

Seems good to me, although my first request was only a week ago O.o

Also I just wanted to clarify one thing:
"I believed it wasn't fair to ban 1 abuser while not being able to punish the source of the abuse."

So theoretically, I could start taking my teammates' items every game as they attempt to burn, and any ban request they make against me would be denied since they were also abusing a glitch?

To clarify, if you played sho with no gs in the game, item stealing wouldn't be an issue.

Lol teller. I'm actually tempted now to go solo and hide all the items in one room and see how many times the group will walk by it before noticing >:D
