Update the ENT rules & Game specific rules.

Postby SnowwyWolf » Sat Jun 29, 2019 6:20 pm

Hello there,

I feel like the ENT Wiki rules are due an update to make them more clear for everyone, such as the rule on draw abuse, explaining what reasons are not legitimate to draw.
The king juggling rule also needs an update to reflect recent changes to it as well.

I'm sure there are more but that was this suggestion thread is for, a discussion on which rules needs to be changed or updated.

Kind Regards,
- Snowwy.

All rules on the wiki are meant to be general as specifying each and every instance of how it can be broken would cause the rule page to be a couple pages long. I feel as though a majority of the rules should remain as is, as users are expected to have some common sense when reading the rules.

Draw rule

Code: Select all

• Drawing is a mere vote and not mandatory. You must have a legitimate reason to draw: for example, a player has left the game, or the mode was unannounced.

Clearly outlines that you must have a legitimate reason for drawing. It is then common sense that a disliked mode is not grounds for users to draw the game, specially when it was announced in lobby.

King Juggling

Code: Select all

• Do not juggle the king preventing him from attacking or killing units.
• Do not change the king's target to delay killing, except to efficiently kill multiple targets or kill higher priority targets such as sent units or low hp units. Range stomping and backward waving is allowed.

Causing animation cancels can cause the king to effectively miss a bunch of attacks in anyones hands. Per the first rule, preventing the king from attacking the unit, by animation cancel in this case, is against our rules. The intended purpose is that the king completes an animation to damage a unit.

If anything, King juggling can be reworded at best, however, adding clarifiers to each and every rule I am highly against. Having users read through a novel to understand our rules is undesiderable, and no one would actually want to read through it all.

Also when creating suggestions for rule changes/rewording, it is best you provide examples of said rules to be changed so it can be debated. Leaving an open ended arguement without something to review is not a valid suggestion.

In the end, the rules are there to be a general outline for the users to follow, and staff members are to judge ban requests on a case-by-case basis. There is meant to be common sense on the communities part.

Thank you for your detailed response and explaination.

When picking a mode other than the default one (-hpgmcb prophet or -phgmcb), mode setter (red) must announce it in the lobby before the game starts. Every player must be informed, so they have the opportunity to leave in case of dislike.

This one, for instance, I would like to contain that they must also announce which builder in the case of picking -hp.
