Things to do for the January tournament

Postby uakf.b » Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:08 pm

1. Validate your accounts

If you're registered for the January tournament, please make sure to validate all the accounts you'll be using! We'll be using the uxtourney system, which automatically hosts games, and only accounts validated by a member on your team will be permitted to join the games. Note: instead of validating the account, you can also make a post here with your team name, the event you signed up for, and all the Warcraft III usernames your team will be using.

To validate accounts, use ENT Link: http://clanent.net/link/validate.php. Then, you can see all the accounts you've validated at http://clanent.net/link/accounts.php.

To see all of the accounts with your team, go to http://clanent.net/tourney/, select the tournament event, and then click Manage registration. If you're having trouble validating all of your team's accounts, follow the instructions here and we'll do it for you.

2. Get ready to go to the tournament dashboard

Fifteen minutes before your first tournament round, you should head to the tournament dashboard (above link but click Tournament Dashboard instead of Manage Registration). This will display your opponent, the gamename, and other information.

To check when your first round is, go to http://clanent.net/tourney/, select your event, and look at the time.

3. Set your timezone

Speaking of times.. you should set your timezone here so you won't be confused about when the tournament starts.

Not registered yet?

The tournament starts a week from now! Registration is still open, but it closes on January 16th at midnight CST (Central Standard Time). So, if you haven't registered yet, do so soon!

To register, go to http://clanent.net/tourney/, select a tournament event, and then hit the Sign Up button.

Other information

The round times have been posted and are relatively finalized. You can see round times by going to the uxtourney website and selecting the tournament event.

Note on tournament overlaps: the only two events that do not overlap currently are Castle Fight and Legion TD Mega. DotA and Castle Fight have a small overlap that may be manageable. Other event pairs all overlap.

I take it the Battleships tournament won't actually be running considering there are two players currently signed up? I tried to get more people to sign up, but they just weren't interested.

Well yeah, there has to be at least two teams. If there are two teams, though, we'll run the tournament.

Why dont we do a random draft of players that have joined the tourney but dont have enough team mates? Thats why i removed my team (i didnt have enough player's).

But from what i see in the dota tourney there still would only be enough for 1 team lol.

Most of the people have teams, just didn't validate the other accounts or get everyone to register forum account and invite them.

If you are having trouble validating all the Warcraft III accounts with your team, then we can do it. See viewtopic.php?f=53&t=4128 for details.
