It's just a fact that the set-up with bots on wc3 isn't working anymore, so there needed to be a new way to sign. Having experience with Discord, this is not a bad solution at all and I believe the moderators (mainly Hazardous i see?) did a really good job with this alternative. This solution doesn't work if not everybody joins, so I think it's good to put a deadline on having a discord account.
Obviously, if you made a post at the start explaining why the swap to discord is essential and why you are putting up a deadline with the possibility for players to ask questions/make suggestions instead of randomly starting to unvouch people, I bet it would not have ended up like this.
This.
LIHL users have asked me to review this "power-trip" but to be honest, I dont get why you are all so blind to what is happening.
Blizzard has a clear intention of removing channel bots due to spammers, etc. The current concept/set-up of LIHL
simply no longer works.
You can keep vouched as long as you want but you wont have any bots to sign games; great for you, I guess.
All Hazardous is doing - and I am not defending him here, that's just a fact - is transitioning LIHL into a new era (technical-wise) to guarantee its survival in the no channel bots area.
People refusing to use Discord saying "I signed up for something different".. really? Obviously, this could have been communicated better, as usual, but it doesnt change the fact that in order for LIHL to continue, we are moving the entire platform on Discord. A platform solely designed
for gamers. As plenty of users have already pointed out, re-vouching users is a necessary step here in order to finish the transition.
LIHL is not dead. LIHL is transitioning into something new. Whether you like it or not is not up to debate considering we are talking about technical issues even ENT has no control over.
You dont like Discord, fine. So should we return to channel bots? Well, that wont work. Perhaps you should reflect your own thoughts more thoroughly. The statement claiming haz would be dictating LIHL anything is just nonsense. What he is doing is ENT's Management's job: taking care of technical aspects of the league and the general staff overview.
The solution? Simply join ENT's central communication platform (Discord), get revouched and play happily ever after. Once the transition is done, haz will obviously step in the "shadows" again as the operative business will be handled by the league moderation as usual.

Regarding nore's removal: We have repeatedly asked the league staff to adjust to the new platform, to help/guide the league to Discord. Following weeks of silence, haz has asked nore a final time. Nore strongly declining to join the platform and has thus been removed from staff considering ENT can not work with such staff member who is not on the platform the league uses.
Moderators are supposed to lead by example. Discord is the solution to a problem here (for lihl, anyway) and refusing to join it is the equivalent to "letting lihl die" what people like you are prone to use in every second sentence. Obviously, the leagues can vote their own moderators but let's not kid ourselves here. In the strategic long term, ENT will have the final say who we work with. If he simply refuses to use it, then there's not much we can do.
tl;dr; LIHL is not dying, it is transitioning due to technical issues.
Was that ENT's choice? No. Blizzard was so kind to force our hands.
Is haz abusing his powers? No. As ENT Management, we make decisions regarding technical matters (re-vouching users is needed as such; plus, I dont see the issue here either: you wont get reviewed, you just sign up again).
What's haz doing? Helping LIHL survive in a no bots era.
The amount of hate towards him about something you either wont or cant entirely grasp in the full picture is astounding. If you dont want Discord, then fine. Seriously, but then the league is indeed dying because the players wont transition into something
what is technical necessary. We aren't happy with moving either, having to code the bot, having to deal with LIHL again.
But to be honest, get real about the situation.
