Just addressing your story's for what they are, since you can't name anybody well done.
I don't have anything to be worried about.

Re: Maphack in Legion
Alright, now that that's said and done: I'm gonna quote myself to hope for some response.
Are you sure agreements was serious about this? It seemed to me to be more of a sarcastic comment, especially since when I look at the maphack ban requests for DOTA it is about fog-clicking and suspicious behaviour. Those things won't happen in legion td, and the only reason you might detect a maphack is for something that isn't possible to happen: a program that detects maphack. However, if this is not the case, I am of course very curious and eager to make it happen.
I am quite fond of Iznogood's suggestion. However, I am not sure that if someone maphacks, his replay will show no fog as well. If it does, it seems to me a very good idea to ask all players to save their replays for 7 days, and that mods can ask for any replay that was played by the player in the last 7 days. If they fail to reproduce it or if there is no fog, measures will be taken. Note that this does not mean you have extra work for this: in the options section of wc3 there is an option to automatically save replays. Can someone enlighten me whether fog is shown when someone maphacked or not? This solution stands or falls with that notion.
You don't stop playing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop playing.
Re: Maphack in Legion
Lets end it here. Its just a game. Im not trying to ruin your life lol. I left lihl and life continues. Ill play next season if theres mh detect. Plenty of ppl dont believe you mh, so youre fine. You dont need to care about what I think
Back on topic; mh detect would be nice

Re: Maphack in Legion
Your 2nd notion won't work, since when you watch a replay whether a person is maphacking or not, if the map has FoW it will be on regardless.
I had a great idea with all the discussion about maphack and a client, for all the non moderators here, in the admins section of the forums we have a section for developers, going to suggest a client be designed. Unless agreements was actually trolling -.-

Re: Maphack in Legion
A replay wont show it. Id like to know if Agreements was sarcastic too?
Back when I played CS people would never play unless anti cheat programs where loaded. The server would take screenshots at random every few seconds and opload those pictures to a public page
VigorousApathy mentioned that wc3 maps used to have a invisible unit installed at enemy units, so if you looked at enemy with mh you would crash

What happens on level 10 & 20 when you need to look at enemy units?

Re: Maphack in Legion
When i played battleships some years ago a dude uploaded some replays to the forum.. funny thing was that he wanted to show off.. thing was that he used maphack and you could see hero icons in the replays. Dunno if the hack has changed or if you're still able to see these icons.
If it didn't change this I believe this is the best way to keep lihl clean from mh.
Next thing is to find out who should ask for replays and if it should happen after/during a game.. so the player will know that he has to save his replay.

Re: Maphack in Legion
I doubt the replay method Iznogood is talking about will work , never seen anything like that and I've reviewed a lot of replays in the past. But maybe it worths giving it a shot
A anti-mh script is possible, however not easy, and I am not sure if bots ( for ltd for example the map gets really fucked up heavy at some point ) will be able to handle it without crashing. Pretty much all kind of hacks work on a very particular ( and similar ) way, making it possible for programs to detect the constant ram usage from the hack. ( pretty much what blizzard tried again and again to implement in war3 ladder and d3 & WoW for farmbots, or valve / steam for cs hacks.
However do not get confused, the hack - antihack works pretty much like the virus - antivirus war, for every hack you determine how it works and block it a new one will come out
Beep don't get me wrong, I thought using fcd ingame was not allowed, even when you are spectating ?
